Adventure
For me, Vietnam is all about soaking in the atmosphere.

The street vendors, the buildings, the crazy traffic, the smell, the food.

Every street is a colourful discovery.

Vietnamese Food

Fresh, with a lot of herbs, super tasty and not spicy. Really suits my taste!

My 2 all time favourites: Bun Cha and Bun thit nuong (called Bo Bun in the west).

Cha ca, a fried fish specialty from Hanoi, was a nice discovery too.

Charcoal pastry

Amazingly, charcoal croissant and baguette seemed to be popular in Hanoi bakeries ...

Tube houses

Common in Asia, but Vietnam is where I have seen the most spectacular ones.

In the past, taxes were based on the street width of the construction.

Colourful streets

Min Juice

I usually like Juice shops, but this one was special.

The juices were better than at other places. You could tell that the lady was putting her heart into it.

I came back every chance I got.

On my last visit, I talked to the lady and found out she was really nice and dedicated to her work. She explained how she tries to make the most healthy food for her customers, and made me try some of her healthy preparations like corn juice, which was delicious.

10 days in a shiny new neighborhood

I saw an airbnb in a newly-built neighborhood outside the city and decided to give it a try.

The place felt a bit superficial, but it was an interesting experience.

Villas close to the lake looked mostly empty but the apartment buildings were full of families.

The complex was tourist free, a nice change from the old French quarter.

Scooter clothing

Like in many asian countries, people protect themselves from the sun when driving their scooter. And they don't joke around.

I found it a bit strange at first, but after I had a long scooter ride under the sun, it made a lot of sense!
