Adventure
This one was a bit rough.

I was curious about Korea for you know... dramas etc. But once I got there, I felt I did not belong.

The city felt impersonal, weather was super cold and my room felt like a prison.

I was missing Philippines weather and atmosphere.

Jimjilbang

Jimjilbang is a sauna place for the whole family, very popular in Korea.

This building had 3 or 4 stories, a dozens saunas with different themes (jade, charcoal, etc), a restaurant, etc.

People sleep on the floor everywhere. Super relaxing.

My prison cell

Sometimes travelling on the cheap gives you good surprises. Sometimes not.

Minus 15 degrees outside. Tiny room, tiny heater.

I taped a towel on the window to try to keep the cold away.

Closing at 4.30 ?

Note to Belgians used to things closing at 4.30pm : this is the other 4.30 !

Korean alphabet

Special mention to Korean alphabet.

Logical, efficient and it looks cool !

Everyday life

The end

In many ways, Korea and Philippines were 2 opposites.

In Philippines, I saw chaos and survival, but life looked simple, authentic and joyful.

In Korea, higher living standards, but life felt more superficial and stressful.

Is there a middle path ?
